Terms of Service

Last updated: August 23, 2026

Rizeora ("Rizeora," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Rizeora mobile application and any associated website (together, the "Services"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Services. Please read them carefully.

Agreement to Terms

By using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.

Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information from our users. Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms or the Services

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is material, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Services after a modified version takes effect means you accept it. If you don't agree, you must stop using the Services. Because the Services evolve over time, we may change or discontinue features at any time, at our discretion.

Who May Use the Services

You may use the Services only if you are 16 years or older and not barred from using the Services under applicable law. To purchase a subscription, you must also be old enough, under the law of your country of residence, to enter into a binding contract on your own (in most places, 18).

Your Account

To use most features, you'll need to create an account with an email address and password. Account creation and authentication are handled by our backend provider, Supabase.

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date account information, and to keep it that way. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account, whether or not you were aware of it. Notify us immediately at legal@rizeora.app if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Using the Services

Rizeora helps you track your sleep, build morning and night routines, log mood and sleep notes, reduce nighttime phone distractions, and learn about sleep through educational content. With your permission, it reads sleep and heart-rate data from Apple Health (HealthKit) or Health Connect to power these features.

Rizeora is not a medical device or service. The Services, and any information, insights, or content within them, are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition, and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider with questions about a medical condition, and never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read or saw in the app. Do not use the Services while driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing anything else that requires your full attention.

We use PostHog, a product analytics provider, to understand how people move through onboarding and to catch app crashes and errors, and we may present optional in-app surveys through the same provider. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The night-time app blocker relies on your device's operating system (Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls framework, or the equivalent Android mechanism) to restrict access to apps you choose. We don't guarantee this feature will be uninterruptible, that it can't be bypassed at the OS level, or that it will prevent every notification — it's a self-imposed tool to support your routine, not a security control.

You are solely responsible for your use of the Services.

Subscriptions

Rizeora offers optional premium features through a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play (each, an "App Store"), using RevenueCat to manage your entitlements. We never see or process your payment card details directly.

Your purchase isn't contingent on any future feature or functionality we may have mentioned, whether in the app, in marketing, or elsewhere.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Services (for example, by emailing legal@rizeora.app), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, without any obligation to you.

Content

"Content" means text, images, and other material made available through the Services, including anything you create in the app — like routine notes, sleep diary entries, or mood logs ("Your Content").

We don't claim ownership of Your Content. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content back to you, solely to operate and provide the Services to you. Rizeora does not have any feature for sharing Your Content with other users, and we won't use it beyond what's needed to run the app and as described in our Privacy Policy.

Aside from Your Content, Rizeora and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in the Services and their Content, including all associated intellectual property. The Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, install, and use the app on a device you own or control, solely for your own personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. You may not: copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app; distribute, sublicense, lease, lend, or rent the app to anyone else; reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app; or make the app's functionality available to multiple users through any means (e.g., on a shared or networked basis).

Additional Terms for App Store Downloads

If you downloaded the app from Apple's App Store or Google Play (each, an "App Provider"), you also agree:

Things You Agree Not to Do

You agree not to:

We may, but aren't obligated to, monitor use of the Services to enforce these Terms or comply with the law, and we may remove content or restrict access at our discretion.

Links to Third-Party Resources

The Services may link to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only — we don't control and aren't responsible for third-party content, and you use it at your own risk.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at our discretion, at any time. You may close your account at any time by emailing legal@rizeora.app, or from within the app if that option is available. If you have an active subscription purchased through an App Store, you should also cancel it directly with Apple or Google — closing your Rizeora account doesn't automatically cancel App Store billing. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution — will survive.

Warranty Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content or insight generated by the Services will be accurate or reliable.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rizeora will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including lost profits, lost data, or service interruption — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Services, however caused, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow this kind of limitation, so it may not apply to you.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or CAD $50 if you haven't paid us anything.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Rizeora harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the laws of the Province of Quebec, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Quebec, and you and Rizeora each consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

Nothing here limits either party's right to bring an individual claim in small claims court, or to seek injunctive relief to protect intellectual property rights.

General Terms

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Rizeora regarding the Services, and replace any earlier agreements on the same subject. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them freely. We'll give notices under these Terms by email or by posting in the app. Our failure to enforce a right doesn't waive it.
